Max Brown was a respected local business identity in the 1950’s who had various property, business and community interests at that time . Max was the catalyst behind the creation of what came to be the uniquely popular Croydon Market servicing Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs and the Yarra Valley.
The rapid development and growth of the outer eastern suburbs back in the late 1950’s 60’s and 70’s was strongly influenced by Max and his Real Estate team. They were well recognised for their expertise in handling many of the new land subdivisions and new home construction at the time . There are many family members buying and selling through our Company today who can well recall their parents and grandparents stories of buying their first home through Max Brown Real Estate, and their experiences settling in the local community.
The business has continued to prosper with the Company being purchased outright in 2007 by Ken Beckwith . Ken being a local experienced Real Estate Agent and businessman jumped at the opportunity when the Company became available to acquire. He saw the benefits of securing a great Company which would be underpinned by a successful business name in the Real Estate Industry coupled with longevity of success. Most importantly Ken understood the goodwill which is associated with our most important asset – a demonstrated history of satisfied customers and clients.
However, Ken certainly has not sat back and just relied on past business success. Since acquiring control of the Company, he has been conscious to allow the business to continue to grow and move with the times as a truly independent and boutique operation. To accompany existing experienced core personnel, Ken has introduced a new complement of expertise into the business along with the latest systems and technologies that are in keeping with real estate best practice businesses. Ken is also outspoken in his views that “some things never change which includes good old fashioned customer service”.
We celebrate 66 years of serving the Yarra Ranges and Maroondah community in 2024.
